The Guitars

Gilet guitars are available in a number of sizes and we offer a broad range of materials and design choices.

We make our steel string guitars in the following sizes, O, OO, 14- fret OO, OOO, 12-fret OOO, Blue Mountains Model, MG1, Dreadnaught, G45 and Jumbo. We make wooden bodied resonator guitars and Weisenborn style lap slide guitars. We also make Concert and Recital Model Classical guitars and Flamenco guitars.

Most models are available with a cutaway. Current material choices include Sitka Spruce, Engelman Spruce or Western Red Cedar tops. Back and sides in Australian Blackwood, Indian Rosewood, Vietnamese Rosewood, Mahogany, Flamed European Maple, Queensland Maple, Ovangkol, and Mediterranean Cypress. Necks are available in Mahogany, New Guinea Rosewood, or Queensland Maple. Finger boards in Ebony, Vietnamese Rosewood, Santos Rosewood or Indian Rosewood. We use only wooden bindings and each guitar has carved braces and a hand thinned and tuned top.. There is broad range of choice for rosettes, and purflings. We use a traditional gloss nitro-cellulose finish; a satin nitro-cellulose finish is also available.
